This Month in Music

I teach kindergarten and pre-k music in a public school and I recently started using this idea on part of the bulletin board outside my music classroom: It's called "This Month in Music" and I feature these areas that we're covering in class:

Music and Literature - (this month it's Eric Carle's From Head to Toe)

Instrument - (this month it's hand drums, and I hung one up on the board!)

Songs -(usually 8-9 titles)

Music and Movement -(this month it's Joe Scruggs' Late Last Night)

Listening- we're listening for and discriminationg between high and low pitches/voices

And any other area we're exploring, creating, etc.

The parents love seeing what the kids are doing and the kids love recognizing things out in the hall! It also helps me stay organized, if I know I will be posting our curriculum.
