Here's an idea that has been a
"hit" and a morale booster in my school for MIOSM. Our elementary
school entrance hallway has an enormous bulletin board...what everyone sees the
moment they walk into the school. Every March I claim this as a way to promote
Music Month. I used this idea last year...
I made a giant keyboard (easily with
white background and black paper and strips for keys). The caption
read...Music...Keys to Success! I cut out colorful quarter notes and using an
old yearbook, cut out photos of teachers and ancillary staff in the
building...cafeteria ladies, custodians, etc. who has a musical past...ex: sang
in the chorus, took piano lessons, or played an instrument. Each photo had a
caption underneath of the musical talent that person experienced in their
lifetime. The kids loved reading these! (and teachers loved being included!)
