Music Quote of the Month

I'm an Elementary Instrumental Music instructor, and having three elementary schools, and having to do two different classroom bulletin boards can be a big challenge. This year I came up with what I thought was a good idea, having kind of the "quote of the month." At the end of the year last year, a retiring teacher was giving away some of her bulletin board things, and among these I found a globe. So, I'm using the globe along with music sayings about the world. For Christmas I used "Joy to the World," and before that I used "Music...the Universal Language." Now I'm using a line from one of Rogers and Hammerstein's musicals, Oklahoma, to be exact, "All the sounds of the Earth are like Music."

***I LOVE this idea! I already have some favorite musical quotes from a book called Dictionary of Musical Quotations by Ian Crofton, Donald Fraser. It is nicely arranged and organized and is very handy during music in our schools month for fabulous quotes by famous musicians and about the importance of music in our schools.
