The Most Amazing Instrument of All

This bulletin board just cracks me up!   Using my digital camera I had my hubby take a picture of my smiling face. I blew it up to almost life-size and printed it out. Next I created a funny body for my lovely printed head. (I just created a simple dress with arms..you could be more elaborate if you wanted.) Next to each body part I have put a label with the name of the body part and how you can make music with it. This idea was adapted from "Kids Make Music" by Hart and Mantell. These are some of the labels:

Brain: The greatest synthesizer of them all! Your brain works with the rest of you to bring out the tunes, beats, words and movements inside you.

Eyes: Imagine! Pick up cues.

Ears: Pick up sounds to play along with

Voice box: Vibrates the sound you hum or sing.

Fingers: snap and pop and thump

Wrist: pulse point

Arms: wave or sway to the beat

Neck: Pulse point.

Hands: clap, slap, rap and jive

Lungs: Give power to your sound

Heart: Best beat keeper in the word: place where your feelings live.

Swiveling hips: shake, rattle and roll; adds "oomph" to your music.

Thighs: clap like a big bass fiddle

Legs: dance and leap

Knees: knockers

Feet: stomp, pound, and drum; happy feet are for dancing

Toes: tap out a beat
