Back to School Blessings

Each August our church holds a Back to School Party for our children and youth.  We take donations of school goodies like rulers, notebooks, etc. as well as snacks like candy, Rice Krispy treats and so on.  We bundle them in little bags and pass them out at the party.  This year we decided to have prayer buddies too.  The apples on the tree and on the bulletin board all have the phrase "Pray for me!" on the them.  Behind the apples are little books (made from the little notepads you can get at the teacher store) with the name of a student they can pray for.  At the end of the evening the kids leave with a back of blessings and the adults leave with a student that they can pray specifically for all year long!
