I Know an Old Lady

As an extension activity with first graders we brainstormed a list of things that the old lady swallowed (fly, spider, bird, cat, etc...)  Students were given plain copy paper and crayons and told to create something to put in the old belly.  For the most part we had animals from the song, but we did have a Jedi, a giraffe and a dinosaur too!

The old lady was made from a piece of bulletin board paper.  The hands were made by tracing my own hands and cutting them out.  The face and hat were made from construction paper.  You could probably find a suitable graphic in a desktop publishing program to use OR you could print out a copy of YOUR face to use.
