Forms...The Key to Unlocking Musical Patterns

(submitted by Jennie)

I used to have a huge bulletin board in the back of my room at another school. When we did a unit on musical forms, I covered the board in black const. paper. I made a big yellow key and a big grey padlock and then laminated them for future use. I also laminated paper in different colors and cut out letters and names of different forms, for ex. ABA, ABACA, theme & variations, etc. For the border, I used a star-shaped sponge (you can get them at craft stores) and paint. You just print the shape along the edge with the sponge. The caption read Forms.... The Key to Unlocking Musical Patterns
