"Performance Potatoes"

Baskets full of Potatoes on the ground with this title: "A Harvest of Playing, Practicing, Preparing, Participating Produces a Perfect Performance." Playing, Practicing, Preparing and Participating are spelled with lettered potatoes. Decorate with leaves and pumpkins, etc

Variations: You could have a class create the background for your board with potato stampers. Just take a potato and carve it so that it can be dipped in paint and then stamped on a piece of paper and leave the appropriate design. (You can use plastic knives or do some of the cutting at home yourself.)

Another decorating idea would be to use burlap as a backing. I've also seen (from yeeeears of VBS) a handful of pillow stuffing or cotton balls inside the foot of a pair of panty hose or knee highs. This looks like little potatoes.
