Those Bloomin' Time Signatures

This bulletin board is definitely for spring time (or maybe just for someone who reeeeally wants it to be spring time!). I create 5-6 flowers. Each of the flowers is made like a daisy with a round center and then petals along the outside around it. On the center part of the flower I write a time signature. I try to vary the time signatures using 4-4, 3-4, 6-8, 5-4, 2-2, etc... I then put up petals around the flower that coincide with the number of beats in each measure. For example: in 4-4 time I use 4 petals with a quarter note on each one; 6-8 time has 6 petals with an eigth note each on them.

I usually use construction paper for the petals, but you may want to consider using bright flourescent copy paper or glossy wrapping paper for the petal. You can also use tissue paper wadded into tiny balls to glue into the center part of the flower.
