| I have a large empty square type
area out side of my classroom. I decided to use the
train as my theme all year. At the beginning of the
year the display is titled "All Aboard the Music
Express". The earth that the train is on is large
pieces of green bulletin board paper. I used a sponge
brush and black paint to add the tracks. You could use
a thick black marker and get a nice effect. On the
cars of the train I have printed the names of different
things we do in music with an appropriate piece of clip
art. Some things I included were playing instruments,
singing, dancing, listening, learning sign language, moving
with hula hoops, playing guitars, etc... On the
outside of the door that's in the area I posted my 3 general
rules using train track clipart. The door (pic on the
right) says "Stay on the Right Track! Respect
Yourself. Respect Others. Respect the Property
of All."
